We are packing up all of our silent disco kit, brushing off the sequins and heading to Homeground in the heart of our beloved city!
With Mamboing Mums and Diva Dads who will dare to spin the wheel of dance and win the legendary kids v parents dance-off? Bringing smiles to the faces of children aged 10 and under, and their families we are looking forward to the return of our events as we know and love them!
The session will include disco themed arts and crafts – make some funky dance floor props and festival wristbands. The party will then move to the dance floor where you can choose which channel you want to listen to through the super special OKS silent disco headsets!
It’s 2 channel kids’ pop vs adults’ guilty pleasures – think Little Mix vs Candi Staton and George Ezra vs Bon Jovi! The beauty of it is that you can bop along to your faves and the kids can floss along to theirs without disturbing each other!
Dust off your dancing shoes, get practising in your kitchen disco and then leave everything on the dancefloor, OKS knows how to bring the party!
There will be food trucks a plenty from too-good-to-be-true tofu and craft beers, to tasty tacos and classic HOME pizzas, there’s something for everyone at Homeground this Summer. Full list of food and drink traders here.
Everyone attending this event will need to buy a ticket, we recommend age 4+ for the headsets. Pre walkers are free.
Restrictions are easing, the summer festival season is just around the corner and at OKS we have chosen outdoor venues with plenty of space and ventilation for you and your family to feel as safe as possible. If you want to stay in your own family space for the entire event you can or if you feel comfortable mingling a bit more we will leave that decision to you. We have reduced ticket capacity to make you feel even more comfortable and our craft sessions will take the form of individual craft packs rather than our usual group session.
We are committed to presenting a safe environment for everyone and we are looking forward to the return of our events as we know and love them!
At each venue, though secure, different rooms may be in use for different activities. It is the responsibility of parents to stay with their children at all times.
Staff on site at the social will hold DBS and Children's Safeguarding qualifications. We would ask that any concerns you have are raised with a member of the team immediately.
Adults will not be allowed to come to the social unless accompanied by children!
There will be qualified first aiders on site at all times.
All venues are fully licensed and will have the bar open for the duration of the social.
Parking will vary from venue to venue but may be limited. Please make use of street parking but do so responsibly and please be mindful of our neighbours.
There will be very limited space for buggy and pram storage. We advise bringing a baby carrier or sling for pre-walkers.
There will be on-site facilities at all socials.
We are on the look out for venues across Manchester with a capacity of 200 minimum. Please let us know if you can think of somewhere suitable for a social!
