Willow Lantern Making workshops, Waterside Theatre, Sale

This Christmas we are inviting you to join local willow artist Des from Willow Goat Crafts to help make 100’s of lanterns and light up Waterside Plaza & Stanley Square in Sale for a magical Carnival of Light parade!

Des makes stunning structures from willow and he will be hosting 2 FREE workshops with limited places – so be quick to book your space!

Both sessions are on the 7th December at 1.30pm – 2.30pm and 3pm – 4pm in the Chambers room at the Waterside theatre.

With the spaces being free we get a high number of no shows so we do ask you only book your space if you are definitely participating. No shows will result in fewer lanterns to light up the town! 

The parade starts at 5pm at the Waterside Plaza and it will finish in Stanley Square. Led by some very intriguing characters, we will be celebrating night time pollinators and prowlers. With illuminated magical moths, a curious haloed hair, a giant beaming bear and more! With music and merriment join us for a magical night walk through the town.

Wrap up warm and join the local community to follow this wonderful festive sight.

There is plenty of time to treat the family to a delicious meal either before or after the parade in one of Sale’s family friendly restaurants with performances from Sale Youth Choir and the brass band in the Square from 2.30pm.

Suitable for age 3 +.  Full adult supervision is required. Please reserve a ticket for the children participating.
